Training in local economic development project management
This training course, led by classM experts, is aimed at executives and managers of ESG departments in the mining and oil industries in charge of social performance, local economic development issues and Local Content strategies. It provides them with tools and methods for implementing and reporting on more sustainable, more effective and better managed projects. Details are available in this presentation.
The course is organized in two phases:
- 3 days in-person on October 8, 9 and 10th, 2024 in Abidjan.
- 4 online coaching sessions, organized during the year following the training, to ensure operational implementation of the tools within the teams: 2 one-to-one and 2 group sessions.
Le contenu est divisé en trois modules :
The first module focuses on the different approaches to local economic development undertaken by companies in the extractive sector and the regulatory and normative provisions governing these subjects. The role of the private sector in creating wealth and jobs in their influence zones is also covered, as well as project management methodology and sustainability.
The second module focuses on the management of job- and wealth-generating projects, from diagnosis and identification to selection, structuring and follow-up.
The third module focuses on the tools used at every stage of project management: business plans, monitoring dashboards, territorial diagnosis methodology, opportunity analysis and project sizing, selection. It also covers the topics of impact indicators and impact reporting.
