Deployment strategy

Spie Oil & Gas Services (Spie OGS) is the international subsidiary of the European group Spie, operating in the field of services to the oil and gas industry. Against the backdrop of the revival of the oil industry in Uganda, SPIE Oil & Gas Services wanted to explore opportunities for developing its activities in the country, and more broadly in East Africa, where the company did not have a presence.

SPIE OGS commissioned classM to carry out a feasibility study to gain a better understanding of the market and its players, as well as to validate an implementation strategy and propose an offer adapted to the local context that would enable the company to stand out from the crowd.
ClassM carried out an exhaustive analysis of the market and proposed :

– A survey of all industries and industrial projects in Uganda
– A detailed survey of current projects and SPIE OGS’ potential positioning
– Legal information required to set up operations
– A list of all potential local partners of SPIE OGS
– An interview summary for each contact we met, with a presentation sheet for each company we met
– quantified recommendations on an operational location strategy to be implemented, including future customers’ expectations in terms of local spin-offs
– An assignment sheet to prepare a field visit by SPIE managers
